The county has its own names for its parts, though no official lines divide them: North DeKalb around Chamblee, Central DeKalb around Decatur, East Central DeKalb by Stone Mountain, East DeKalb by Lithonia and South DeKalb along Candler Road. Its planners name the main corridors too, among them Memorial Drive, Covington Highway, Panola Road and the Buford Highway International Corridor.
Most of DeKalb sits inside I-285, with I-20 and I-85 crossing it and US-78 heading east as the Stone Mountain Freeway. More than half of the county's residents live outside any city, in places such as Redan, Panthersville, Candler-McAfee, Gresham Park, Belvedere Park and Embry Hills, and those streets get exactly the visit the cities do.
Inside Atlanta's city limits, DeKalb-side neighborhoods such as Kirkwood and East Atlanta have their own Atlanta pages. Every technician we send calls metro Atlanta home, and DeKalb is part of their regular route.

Why does our DeKalb address name a city we don't actually live in?
Because ZIP codes here don't follow city lines. Only 30030 includes the City of Decatur, though 30032 through 30035 also say Decatur, and the Stone Mountain ZIPs cover far more people than the small city does. Our Decatur, Stone Mountain and Lithonia pages are written for their whole mailing areas, most 30038 addresses belong on the Stonecrest page, and most of 30329 falls in North Druid Hills or Brookhaven. Our house is in Kirkwood, inside Atlanta but on the DeKalb side. Is this the right page?
Our Atlanta neighborhood pages are the better fit. Kirkwood, East Atlanta, Candler Park and Lake Claire are in DeKalb County but inside the City of Atlanta, so each one appears on an Atlanta page that names the streets we work there.
