The upstairs gets the same attention as the front room
Big two-story houses look out over the park, and smaller two-story homes fill the streets behind them. Stairs and a second floor come with most of these homes, so we plan for them from the first call. Before starting, the technician walks every floor with you, including the bedrooms guests never see, and you choose what gets cleaned.
Each step of the staircase gets cleaned on its own, tread and riser, by the same process we use on the bedroom floors. Upstairs and down, the carpet is dry in about an hour, so the kids' rooms are back in use well before bedtime.
The price for the rooms and stairs you picked goes down in writing before any work begins. That written quote is the number on your invoice, with nothing added later.

How the clean works
Made for busy front halls and the stairs above them
In a two-story house, the front hall and the stairs carry more feet than anywhere else, so they're a good place to start the walk-through. Point out the lanes and spots that bother you, and they get extra passes.
Our low-moisture process uses just enough solution to break the dirt's grip deep in the pile. Absorbent cleaning pads then pull that dirt out. Each time a pad loads up, the technician swaps in a fresh one, and every spent pad shows what your stairs were holding.
Since our solution leaves no tacky coating behind, a hall we clean holds its clean about three times longer than one done with traditional steam cleaning. The rug in your front hall is cleaned in place, on the floor it already sits on, and stays home the whole time. Sofas and armchairs can join the same visit; the technician checks the cleaning code on each one's tag and cleans it the way that code calls for.

Our house is on the Grant Park Tour of Homes this year. When should we have the carpet cleaned?
Aim for a few days before the tour. Everyone comes in through the front hall and up the stairs. Can those get extra attention?
Yes. Show the technician the worst lanes and spots when you walk the house together at the start; those get more passes. The staircase is cleaned one step at a time, each tread and riser on its own, edges along the wall included. When the work is done, you look over the hall and the stairs together, and if you want a step or a lane gone over again, the technician does it before the equipment leaves.
We hardly use the bedrooms upstairs. Do they have to be cleaned along with everything else?
No. You choose the rooms. On the walk-through, the technician looks at each floor with you, and the two of you decide which rooms need it now and which can wait. The written price lists only what you picked, and it doesn't change once the work begins. If you decide to add a room on the day, it goes onto the written price before it gets cleaned.
I rent an apartment in Grant Park. Can you clean the carpet with my furniture still in place?
Yes. Chairs, end tables and ottomans get lifted aside so the carpet beneath them can be cleaned, then go back in their spots. Beds, dressers and entertainment centers don't need to move; the technician cleans the carpet around them.
